Place: Nice open space that is enclosed overhead - Decent in a light rain and a good breeze going through. Service: Friendly and polite! Food: Holllllyyyy that charburger is great for the price. Its a delicious burger, made quick and cheaper than fast food? Definitely exactly what I wanted when craving a burger. Prices: Excellent price. Fries and the burger were 17. Came with ketchup, they aren't messing around. Conclusion: Absolutely would come here again or come here if wanting a quick bite in the area. I had my food in less than 10 minutes. Accessibility: Not accessible, especially the washrooms.

Dog friendly!!!! Excellent food! Wonderful and pleasant service!!! Super nice atmosphere! We loved char and Chowder. The food was absolutely flavorful and tasty- well priced. Lots of seating space! Smiley and pleasant service. We got the food pretty quickly once we ordered. Completely recommend this place! They have blankets and heaters when it’s colder!

We’ve been traveling the East Coast and have had a number of lobster rolls and Char and Chowder’s was hands down the best! Very fresh and mixed with a bit of celery and fresh dill. Served with thin and crispy fries cooked to perfection. One of us had the local IPA and another had a local Blueberry cider- it was dry and delicious. The IPA was excellent. The food is really notable but the atmosphere is also show-stopping. A large indoor outdoor, industrial barn with lots of room and design that makes your eyes wander upward to the beautiful ceiling. Service was excellent- everyone seemed to be having a good time, they were friendly and kept the whole place looking great.

Open air, a bit self serve, but that adds to the atmosphere! The Char chowder is possibly the best chowder I’ve ever had. Others had a burger, and a smoked salmon - all very much enjoyed! Kids menu chicken fingers was high quality and gobbled up. The beer menu is also excellent!

Traveling on the road in the East Coast, stopped by here for lunch. The Haddock Chowder was amazing. The staff was wonderful and so friendly. Super pet friendly, the staff provided the dogs with treats and welcome pets. Definitely recommend!

We weren’t here on the best day weather wise but enjoyed an amazing bowl of seafood chowder. Thick, creamy with bite sized pieces of perfectly grilled haddock, potato, etc. accompanied by a couple slices of a garlic/butter toast. Very recommended if you’re a chowder fan. I’ll add that the staff were great and the vibe in the place was great too. Had it been a little warmer outside we might have stayed into the evening but...it’s early in the season.

If you’re in St Andrews, I highly recommend Char & Chowder for a delightful meal in a cozy atmosphere. I can’t wait to return and sample more of their menu!

I can’t say enough goods thing about this place. We’ve been traveling the Maritime Region for three weeks and I’ve had a lot of chowder. The seafood chowder here is absolutely the best! Rich, but not heavy broth, loaded with seafood and top with two small grilled bread slices. It was so good last night I came back and had chowder for breakfast today, at 10:30 AM. My wife had the breakfast sandwich and it was very good too. Accept no others. My wife’s chicken sandwich was also tasty. Good beer selection too. I’d travel back again from North Carolina just to eat here. Friendly staff, good menu and an open courtyard venue.
